Pan Fried Black Pepper Chicken Chop

I got some chicken breast meat from the supermarket and decided to do a simple culinary experiment. Hence, I have decided to try out black pepper chicken chop.

To my surprise, the chicken chop was delicious just by using simple ingredients. The breast meat was tender, juicy and yet flavourful. I had originally planned to cook some sauce to go with it. After tasting it, I felt it was good eating on its own.

You can serve it with some fries and vegetables to go along as a meal, or simple eat it with rice.

Ingredients (serves 2)

Food ingredients:
- 2 boneless chicken breast meat

For marinating:
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp chicken powder
- 1 garlic clove, chopped

Cooking Directions

1) Skin off and butterfly the chicken breast to speed up cooking time. Tenderise the chicken with the back of your knife or a meat mallet.

2) Marinate the chicken with the above marinating ingredients for at least 1 hour.

3) Pan fry the chicken in low medium heat with olive oil. When 1 side has browned, flip to another side to cook. Flipped it twice on both sides if you are afraid that it will get burnt.

4) Serve it with fries and vegetables or with rice.

Additional Notes

1) Pan fry with olive oil will make the meat more flavourful.

2) Chicken breasts cook pretty fast. It is estimated around 7 minutes to thoroughly cook the meat. Do not overcook the chicken as the meat will be tough.
