Pan Fried Black Pepper Chicken Chop

I got some chicken breast meat from the supermarket and decided to do a simple culinary experiment. Hence, I have decided to try out black pepper chicken chop.

To my surprise, the chicken chop was delicious just by using simple ingredients. The breast meat was tender, juicy and yet flavourful. I had originally planned to cook some sauce to go with it. After tasting it, I felt it was good eating on its own.

You can serve it with some fries and vegetables to go along as a meal, or simple eat it with rice.

Pork Cordon Bleu

I bought some pork loins from supermarket and was thinking what to do with them. I saw cheese and ham in my fridge, and thought of trying out Pork Cordon Bleu. I was a little hesitant to cook it at first. It seemed like a lot of work and preparation. After trying out, it was not as bad as I thought of.

It was worth the efforts. Seeing my husband finishing the dish makes it worth my day. You can expect my two fluffy dogs sneaking out at my kitchen, hoping to find bits of food on the floor. I hope you can try out this dish. It's really simple, classic good food.

Comfort Chicken Soup

It has been raining for a couple of weeks in Singapore. The sunny city has become wet and cool. Hence, I have decided to make this comforting chicken soup for my hubby since we were both starting to feel unwell. This soup is my all-time favourite as it is simple, fuss-free and yet delicious.

The key ingredient here is onion. Putting in onion makes the soup sweeter and more flavourful. Besides, consuming onions in cold weather help to boost our immunity, helping to fight off cold and flu. I have also put in carrots and potatoes in the soup. Hence, this soup is highly nutritious, making it a hearty and warming food in this cold weather.

Stir Fried Assorted Mushrooms

I never like mushrooms since young. I will avoid it at all costs as I think it is boring, tasteless and lack of crunch. However, it is rather strange that I am starting to appreciate mushrooms nowadays.

There are many health benefits of eating mushrooms. Mushrooms have low sodium and fat, and they are high in fibre. They are also known to improve the body's immune system as they have a high antioxidant content. If cooked properly, they can be delicious too!

I love putting assorted mushrooms together and cook them. I think it's boring to consume one kind of mushroom, so putting different mushrooms together adds variety to the dish. I learn to cook this dish from watching a cooking show and I experiment it and adapt from there. Being a lazy person, I prefer to do simple cooking. Hence, I cut down many steps and make adaptions. Surprisingly, this dish tastes refreshing and good.

Braised Chicken with King Oyster Mushroom

This is my first post and I am so excited! My first recipe to share with you is Braised Chicken with king oyster mushroom. King oyster mushroom is highly nutritious. It is high in dietary fibre, low in calories and has a high antioxidant content. It also helps to lower cholesterol. I love this mushroom for its high nutritional value and its crunchy bite.

This recipe is similiar to the chinese braising method. The braised chicken together with the king oyster mushroom makes this dish so flavourful that you can simply eat it with 2 bowls of plain rice. This is also a very easy dish to prepare.
